Our Birds for Adoption

See our birds and read their stories.  Contact us for an adoption application if you are interested in adopting or fostering a bird.  Because our birds may have come from abuse or neglect situations, we screen everyone who wants to adopt or foster to ensure that our birds will be in the most caring environments.  Even if they came from wonderful homes, a new home can be stressful, so we like to make sure that they will be in homes that are at least as wonderful as where they came from.  Our approval process consists of completing an application, attending one of our free parrot care classes, and having a phone screen and home visit.  Once approved we will help you decide which bird to take home.  If you are adopting, you will pay an adoption fee after selecting your new family member.

  • Cockatiel-Baby Huey & Buster O'Brien

We are a bonded pair of male cockatiels.  I'm Baby Huey, the white-faced 'tiel and my friend is Buster O'Brien, a normal grey.  I was the only bird in the house until my mom found Buster outside trying to live on his own.  She put the two of us together and we have been best buddies.  I like people and will step up for head rubs and kisses.  Buster is more wary of humans but if I go somewhere he follows me.  He will tolerate stepping up and sitting on your shoulder as long as I'm there.  I like to sing the Andy Griffith song and Adams Family theme song.  In our foster home, we eat some seed and pellets, as well as lettuce, peas, corn, and Beak Appetit or Crazy Corn.  Our foster mom is feeding us all sorts of new foods to find out what we like.  Buster is a great escape artist so our doors have to always be locked from the outside.  Our mom decided we needed a new home because she travles too much to give us the stability we need.  We must admit, we LOVED getting to see the country, but we agree it would be nice to settle down in one place.  Since we are so bonded, we MUST be adopted together and stay together.  We would be lost without each other.  Would you like to give us new home to call our own?

  • Rainy-Cockatiel

My name is Rainy and I am a Lutino Cockatiel... Lutino basically just means yellow.  I'm named Rainy because I was found outside in the rain.  One of my wings was injured and bleeding.  For a while, if I bumped it, it would start bleeding again.  We think it's all healed now and I'm ready to find my new home.  I'm not tame, but I think with some love and attention I could be.  I've already stopped running away from hands and stand my ground when it's feeding time and hands are in my cage.  With a little more attention and love, I may just learn to step up and sit on your shoulder... no guarantee on that though!!  Won't you take me home and give me a chance?
  • Sunshine and Bluebell-English Budgies

Hi, we are Sunshine and Bluebell, two adorable English Budgies!  Some people also call us parakeets.  We are bigger than the average parakeet you see, but sing just as sweetly!  Our person passed away and a nice neighbor brought us here to find a new person to love us.  We are not tame, but we love to sing and will entertain you with our antics when we are playing.  Please come meet us and take us home!!
  • Buddy/Goffins Cockatoo

Hi there!  I am Buddy a male Goffins Cockatoo and I'm about 2 years old.  I like to talk and I can say "Come back!", "Hi Buddy!", "Bye-bye!" and many other things.  I'm also an escape artist and can figure out how to get out of my cage, so make sure you keep me locked in or secure the doors somehow.  I am a typical male cockatoo and like to scream for attention but my current person is trying to teach me that it's not okay to scream.  If you've heard an Umbrella Cockatoo or Moluccan Cockatoo scream, I am not as loud as them, but can still be annoying, so be prepared for some noise if you decide to take me home.  I'm really cute and affectionate.  I love to have my head rubbed and step up very nicely.  I like to eat pellets, pasta and am learning about other foods as well.
  • Curly-Umbrella Cockatoo

I'm Curly, an Umbrella Cockatoo.  My mom travels alot for her job and she used to be able to take me with her on trips, but she said she's finding it harder to get hotels that will allow me to stay.  It was hard for her to let me go, but she knows I'll be happier in a home with more stability where I will get lots of attention.  I prefer men, but I also get along great with women!!  I'm very friendly and playful, but when I want attention, I DO make a loud scream noise.  In those cases, you should ignore me or put me back in my cage or a different room so I learn that it is not nice to scream like that.  I'm already learning to be quieter in my foster home!!  Won't you take me home and play with me?
